ZIPCMN
The Zip Comment Adder
Version 1.3
Created By :

This file is meant to assist Sysops in the adding or deleting
comments from thier Zipped files. This program REQUIRES the use of
DOS 5.0, AND PKZIP 1.10. This program will be updated as soon as I
get a copy of PKZIP 2.0.
HOW TO USE ZIPCMN
command line:
ZIPCMN [COMMENT.FIL] [/S]
Where COMMENT.FIL is the name of the file to use for the
comment, and /S means to also do subdirectories (useful for doing
all of your zipped files).
NOTE: this program will ONLY process files with the .ZIP extension.
all other extensions will be disregarded. If you use anything
other than .ZIP, please rename your files. This should be done
by typing REN *.EXT *.ZIP [/S] at the dos prompt. Where *.EXT
is the extension of your files, and /S will process
subdirectories.
These parameters are optional for starting the program, however,
the program will ask you for a filename, if you do not provide one.
THE /S PARAMETER CAN NO LONGER BE ENTERED HERE! The /s command must
be on the command line if you wish to process sudirectories.
When making a comment file, it will be necessary to start the text
(or ASCII Graphics) on the second line. If this is not done, the comment
will be misaligned.
If you are currently using the SET DIRCMD= environment variable,
this program may not work unless it is put in a batch file to
reset your DIRCMD.
This version of ZIPCMN will keep the same ZIP file date for your
zipped files. As using the pkzip -k parameter. The pkzip -o paramater
does not work when only adding comments.
All users of ZIPCMN may copy this program, provided the program
stays in its original, unmodified state. This Program Includes
ZIPCMN.DOC, AND ZIPCMN.EXE, these should be in a single zip file
as ZIPCMN13.ZIP!
